Who Am I?

I wasn’t always interested in the film industry and took art for a majority of my elementary and high school years. I started to become interested in it when I realized the parallels they have with comics.

It was only until I delved into the creators that I realized how much the influences of each intersected. Their influences led me to looking into their films more and an interview from Todd Mcfarlane showed me how an artist is similar to a director.

The Artists job is in guiding where you look, while the writer of the issue is mainly the director, there’s a quote from Steven Spielberg taking to Stan Lee that highlights this “ The only difference between what I do and what you do is that the pictures don’t move”.

A big influence on me is The Dark Knight. Although I was a fan of films before; this solidified it. This showed me that you could treat a medium like a comic book as seriously as a novel and for me that opened up the possibilities in the way you can approach storytelling.

Lately I have become drawn towards freelance writing and expressing the influential nature media such as film, television and video games have on our daily lives. Art is about concerns filtered through entertainment to drive home critical information that not only enriches our lives but imbues life lessons through them. Life is short, media allows us to experience many perspectives that would otherwise be impossible. Come dive in with me as I explore it’s impact.
